First, thank Ursula and Boots for putting this document together. IMO, it was well-written, well-organized, and purposeful.

I have a couple of comments:

Should we start to prioritize the recommendations? Given today's funding climate, student enrollment, and economy? Which ones should be implemented first?

Or what should the next steps be? Form working groups to more concretely derive specific tasks based from the recommendations?

I think if the report pointed out some roadmap or stated a position (in terms of priorities) would make the report even more useful to readers of the document.

I agree that the document is clear, well written and lays out the key issues and challenges.

I also agree with the question asked by 'lksoh' ... is it appropriate at this time to prioritize the recommendations? You all have a better idea than I do about why NSF convened this process. Are they prepared to invest some money in programs that advance interdisciplinary computing? If they would entertain such ideas, this draft certainly explains why that could be money well spent -- and, at least implicitly, contains some ideas for ways NSF could have an impact on advancing interdisciplinary computing.

The Arizona program (p. 9) is SISTA, not CISTA (The School of Information: Science, Technology, and Arts -- sista.arizona.edu ).
